WTCC: ON ROUTE TO IMOLA, ITALY - 19-20 SEPTEMBER 2009 Posted on: 11/09/2009
The FIA World Touring Car Championship visits Imola for the third time after last year's successful event that marked the reopening of the glorious racetrack after a two-year closure due to extensive renovation works.
The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is located near the Italian town of Imola, 40 kilometres (24.9 miles) east of Bologna and 80 kilometres (49.7 miles) east of the Ferrari factory in Maranello.
From the motorway, by car, follow the directions to "autodromo"; at the crossroads with Viale Dante cross the bridge over the river. The monument by the French artist Arman, made up of smaller Ferrari replicas, marks the official entrance to the Circuit; the race control tower is just on the left-hand side.
From the railway station walk on for 1,5 km, passing through the town centre, and continue straight to the main entrance and the monument. The underpass on the right leads to the park
